Airport Hacks

Whether is your 1st or your 100th visit to the airport we are sure that you will find at least something you didn’t think of to be prepared for your next visit to the airport.

Welcome, on this post we will show you some tricks to save time, money and frustration during your next visit to the airport.

Bring a Jacket

Before take-off and landing most airlines will make the cabin colder, and closing your fan won’t do much to prevent getting cold.

Bringing a Jacket will also take space and weight from your luggage and a trick that we will show you in the next step.

Bring an extra small bag

If you are bringing a carry-on, it is very easy to hide a small bag with food and snacks (or even some of the stuff that did not fit in your suitcase).

Just use the jacket that you are bringing for the cold AC and place it over your carry-on handle. Et Voila!

Water Bottle

Many people think that just because liquids aren’t allowed to go through security you need to buy water inside the airport.

That’s not the case. the best option is to bring a bottle of water from home and empty it completely before going through security. Once you are inside the terminal all you need to do is look for a fountain and refill it.

Bring a food bag and bring your food and snacks

In case you don’t want to bring a jacket, or you are;t bringing a carry-on with you, there is another way to sneak food into a plane.

All you will need to do is make it look like you’ve got the food from the duty-free or an airport shop.

To do so, next time you ask for food to go or coffee, keep the bag, and bring all the snack on them

Get picked up at departures

In many airports, the arrivals pick-up section is always chaotic, full of police who won’t let you wait and even paid for. While the departures section is empty.

If you have someone picking you up this may be your best and fastest option.

Wifi not working? Try this

Sometimes le sign-in page for the airport Wifi won’t load automatically. In this case, you can try accessing the router’s default page by entering (copying and pasting) or clicking one of the following adresses.

If you’re trying to connect to a company’s public Wi-Fi network—perhaps Gogo internet on a flight—try opening that company’s website. Most public Wi-Fi networks let you browse their company site without logging in, and they often have a link to their Wi-Fi login page.

Place all liquids on a checked bag

Doing this will save you time and maybe even have to repack your entire carry-on after going through the security checkpoint.

As you already know, liquids such as clone, sunscreen, and other beauty and health products after the security checkpoint are limited to 100ml/3.4 ounces, but even if you are bringing items under that if you are checking a bag, make sure you place all the liquids there. That way you won’t need to pull them out when you are going through TSA. And it will save you a lot of time and having to reorganize everything in your bag to place those items back.

Carry-ons don't get weighted.

If you have checked in online, received your boarding pass, and don’t have to deal with the counter to check any bag, then the weight restrictions for carry-on bags or personal items won’t apply to you as airlines don’t weigh carry-ons at the gate. (Be aware that they do check dimensions).

So as long as those zippers close, you can carry as much as you want.

If you travel a lot with just your carry-on and want to bring more items with you you should buy some compression bags, which will allow you to pack more on your carry-on

*Note that if you have to go through the ticket counter they may ask you to place your bag on a scale and will ask you to pay extra or get staff out until you reach the weight limit.

Search on google for your flight number

Google offers a lot of information on your flight whenever you type the flight number in the search bar. Normally flights will use the same code for your route and time table so you will be able to see if the flight from the day before was on time or delayed. I

t also shows you real-time updates about your gate and if the flight has been delayed.

Don't board the plane last.

We all hate waiting. If you board the plane last, you will have to wait for almost everyone that has gone before you to sit down and place their items, so, even if it seems like a good idea to not wait in line to go through the gate the line will be waiting for you afterward. If you are bringing a carry-on you might not have enough room for it and will have to check it and have to go pick it up to the baggage claim with a couple of new scratches.

We all love having as much legroom as we can get too so if you get in soon enough you might be able to place your bag on the overhead compartment and therefore not flying with a bag between your feet.
