Getting from the parking lot to the Waterfall on Salto Do Cabrito is a quick and easy path, but there is more to explore, apart from being able to go to the top of the waterfall there is a small loop trail of about 4.8 Km (3 Miles) that follows the river and crosses a couple of bridges and some thick forest and ends up in the Parking lot. The only problem with the path is that there aren’t signs indicating how to follow the route, so we will try to give the best possible directions in this article.
1. Trailhead
The Loop trail sarts right next to the white building, there are some steps to the right that will take you up to the top of the waterfall. There are some steep stairs and the views from the walkway on the top are very recomended
2. Pipe Line
At the end of the walkway there is a big pipe with a trail to the right, follow this path until you reach the bridge
3. Cross the bridge
The pipeline will take you to a bridge with some buildings. You must cross this bridge
4. Follow the big path
After crossing the bridge there is a wide non-paved path, meant for vehicles, follow that path until you see a door. On the door take the small trail to the right, that will take you trough a dense forest.
5. Reach the paved Road
After walking for a while through the forest you will re-encounter the pipeline. You should follow this pipe until you reach a paved road. Once on the paved road, it’s where we got lost, right before (click for coordinates) there is a hidden white building that you access by going under the pipe and then you’ll find a very steep hill. You will need to follow it.
6. Get to the "Vodopád"
At the end of the steep hill down, there is an old stone bridge covered by vegetation that is labeled as Vodopád on Google, which means waterfall. You will need to cross it and follow the trail until you see a big open space.
7. Turn Right
After the open space you will find the path again at the top. If you follow that path you will get to another wide non-paved path. You will take a right there, and another one further down which will take you right to the upper parking lot in Salto do Cabrito.
